My name is Amanda. My husband is Todd. Together we have 4 children, half of whom are grown. We live in a small Southern Minnesota town in an ordinary neighborhood, with an ordinary house, and ordinary things. We would love for you to join us on our journey as navigate what it means to go zero-waste and reduce our footprint.
For the last several years there has been a focus toward reducing waste. We have slowly jumped on that bandwagon and will continue to reduce our footprint through intentional homemaking, transitioning to a more energy efficient dwelling, and decreasing our overall waste.
Some facts you need to know about me on this journey:
- I am not a homemaker by nature. I have struggled to keep a clean/orderly house my entire adult life. Some early influencers for me were the Fly Lady, Toni at A Bowl Full of Lemons, and most recently Lisa at Farmhouse on Boone. If you are familiar with these ladies you can see how my needs have shifted over the years. I have now decided its my turn to share what I know.
- I struggle with low-waste living. There are people out there right now who can fit their yearly garbage into a mason jar. I will doubtfully ever become one of those people. When the dog gets sick on the carpet, I will likely always reach for paper towels, but I promise to be intentional about my choices.
- I understand the burdens of a modern family. There are 4 kids in my household. I am always outnumbered. Both my husband and I work full time outside the home. My goal is to incorporate lifestyle changes into a busy household where everyone is going in different directions. And I want these changes to stick.
So please join me as I work to reduce my family’s footprint. I look forward to the opportunity to discover new things about the world and to make new friends along the way!
XOXO,
Amanda
